The MPanel Sailshade software is developed specifically for the shade sail industry, using HDPE knitted fabric, MPanel Shade Designer provides creating a three-dimensional model and an accurate flat fabric pattern of a shade sail structure.

Tips on how to put up & design sail shades for around the home or your space
Here are some guidelines for helping you to design a which shade is best for you. There are a few variables to consider when designing a shade.
Utilize existing structure - the surrounding buildings & structures can be used for anchor points if they are strong enough. You can run “guy” lines if needed too. Of course, installing poles is a necessity sometimes
Fall – For best results shades should have a “fall or height variation”. This adds a dimensional look & helps with run-off of water, leaves & debris. About 15-20% is good for Triangles. 4 & 6 sided shades can be higher at 20-30% variation. Alternating the high lows is best (see below) !
Shapes - “3 Dimensional” shades are preferred over “2 Dimensional” shapes. That’s why 4 sides (or more) we think are better. If you can imagine a 4-sided shade, you can have 2 “high” corners & 2 “low” corners. This adds great shape & when tensioned helps stiffen the shade. They can also move less & last longer.
Size – Shades 5m or bigger require careful thought, strong edges & attachment points.
Tension – if a shade is “flat” it will require a lot of tension to pull tight. When caught in the wind, you have to have very strong anchor points. Also, leaves & debris won’t naturally fall off. During extremely heavy rain water can also pool (but not for long).
Attachment Points – For permanent shades “strong points” such as concrete pillars are best. We use threaded rod set in epoxy, but there are cheap hooks available locally. If you need poles they normally start at 75mm x 2mm(wall thickness). Temporary shades you can use trees etc too, but best to get some flexible rubber for attachment as they move somewhat.
Measurements – For custom shades it’s important to take exact measurements (from the attachment points). This includes the diagonals & heights. Ask us for a 3, 4, 5 or 6 sided template to help you.
Pre-made – can be used as temporary (off the shelf) or semi-permanent.
Custom Design – Are always best & maximize your area. They can be made cheap or expensive & designed to fit exactly.
